In 2010 we pedaled off on a multi-year trip to photograph the diverse bicycle cultures, capture the experience of traveling on two wheels, and shoot new “Little Red Cyclist” images. You can follow our journey via this blog.
Note: the articles don’t follow our trip “real time” and are approximately two years behind our present location.
In one of the municipal campings in the Calchaiques Valley we stayed a couple of extra days to laze about and watch the home football team get beaten by their neighbouring rivals. (The next day all of the villagers were depressed!) We also befriended the local camp dog by giving him some meat and extra attention. Well when we finally came to leave – the dog decided that we were now his best friends and decided to accompany us. Yelling for him to go back didn’t help as he just kept following. After some 10 kilometers Paul (with a very heavy heart) threw some sand and small rocks at him to try and discourage him. That didn’t help as he took refuge behind Grace’s bike. Finally I too had to throw some sand in his direction...We felt soooo bad.
